Silent Night

Watch the video below and listen to the sound of katydids (type of cricket) #1.

Imagine having to listen to their chant throughout the night, so loud that it keeps you frustratingly awake all night.

Silent Night

Is it a bird, is it a plane?

A cricket? A $*@$#ing pain

When you can't see

The wondrous biology

Of creatures and forests galore

For in the darkness

I'd rather starkness

To lend the silence a snore

Hold my drink, my rosy glass

That glamorize the brook and grass

The poetic gurgling

That turns to clenching

When I'm losing sleep by the hour

For in the darkness

I'd rather starkness

Damn it, mute the twinkle star

Blue light, white noise

My phone, redeeming choice

Far too removed

And city brewed

To enjoy hilltop nights

For in the darkness

I'd rather starkness

Than the chorus of nocturnal rites

Sorghum Field

Grain flower,
Bread flour,
Food for the common man.

For the land's plougher
And beast's fodder
Daily millet and bran
